Missions

OUR LOCAL MISSIONS:

First Fruits Garden consists of raised garden beds located behind the church. People from both the congregation and the community plant, water, weed, and harvest so that others may enjoy gifts from the soil. The Garden provides fresh produce for the Project Outreach food pantry each week during the late spring and summer.

Project Outreach is a community mission that serves all ages with a food pantry, emergency services, housing, transportation, and more. Royersford Baptist Church participates with many other churches in Royersford and Spring City area by collecting food for the pantry and responding to emergencies as they arise.

Anti-Human Trafficking. RBC participates in MCAT (the Montgomery County Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition) to educate the public including children, youth and adults in our county about human trafficking, both forced labor and sex trafficking. We are helping to build a community network to identify signs of trafficking and are equipping people to take action. Our initiatives include membership on the MCAT Board of Directors, work to plan awareness events throughout the county and hosting community educational and training events at RBC for our immediate area. On the global level we support Rovaughana Richardson and other missionaries working to end modern-day slavery and to provide aftercare for survivors.

St. Mary’s Shelter  Each year, members of Royersford Baptist Church support the St. Mary's Shelter by providing a week's worth of meals.

CROP The annual community Crop Walk, to raise funds for the hungry includes many walkers from Royersford Baptist Church. Some have been walking and collecting donations for over 20 years! New walkers are always welcome.

The Administrative Support Team of RBC organizes missional projects around our church building including spring and fall work days and building repairs and upkeep.  If you are handy with tools or love to work outside, we have fulfilling ways for you to be involved!

Eyeglasses Collection  We maintain a collection point in our lobby for old eyeglasses.  In the last year RBC contributed around 90 pairs of eyeglasses.  Your eyeglass contributions are valued and make a difference.

ABC Mission American Baptist Churches, USA receives four offerings a year. Royersford Baptist Church participates in each of these offerings through “second mile giving”. The offerings are:

  • America for Christ– supporting mission work in the U.S. and Puerto Rico
  • One Great Hour of Sharing – supporting disaster relief and development nationally and internationally, in cooperation with other denominations
  • World Mission Offering– supporting the work of International Ministries
  • Retired Minister & Missionary Offering–supporting "thank you gifts" for those retired saints who have faithfully served Christ through the ABC/USA.

Mission Trips Church-wide short term mission trips to Chile and Ensenada, Mexico have been wonderful inter-generational experiences where participants learn to value other cultures and gain a better perspective on what it means to follow Jesus in a global context.  Our most recent trip, was an inter-generational team who participated in a Music Camp in Haiti.

Our youth participate in an annual week of mission with the REACH program.  In addition, individuals and families in our church have traveled to mission sites like Cuba and Haiti in recent years.  Money is designated in the RBC Budget to provide some support for people who feel called to participate in a short-term mission project.
